I would just like to say a huge thank you to TSR. I stumbled across the Showing Register earlier this year. I became a member which was easy to do and the rest is history. I decided to have a go at the pathway to hoys and to my amazement I won my age category. It really did make my dreams come true … I met some lovely people and had tremendous support from the TSR team. I would highly recommend anyone with the same dream as me to go for it. It really was an amazing experience which will last a lifetime. Thank you Sarah Chapman for all your support and hours of hard work.

Thank you Sarah and the TSR! We have had the most fantastic experience ever at HOYS. After several stressful weeks, trying to keep us all fit and well and with Robbie deciding to jump out of the menage last Monday, my nerves were in shreds but it was definitely worth it! From the moment we arrived you really looked after us, helping with working in and final preparations. The master class was brilliant with Michael and Cindy giving simple yet effective instructions which helped massively with our performance. The whole experience has been surreal, watching aeroplanes taking off whilst hacking around the NEC car park! Working in with 50 others at 5am and gaining tips from the household cavalry, mounted games and all the professionals. I have learnt a lot and now have the confidence to push myself further to achieve more in the future. You have given me and my super grooms memories to cherish for a long time to come!

I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help, advice and guidance throughout our experience at HOYS. You were Brilliant with India and made her feel very special and really did put yourself out to make sure that it all ran smoothly for us and for that I really wanted to thank you. We had a wonderful time and will never forget it.

I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful experience. It was thoroughly enjoyable and a great event to ride at with my boy. The opportunity you gave us four was incredible and truly one to remember. It has made me want to strive even more to qualify Wiggy for the coloured CHAPS class next year.

Rachel Metcalf HOYSRiding out of the Caldene Arena to the sound of the HOYS music has definitely topped off a fantastic year with JuJu; I never imagined that I would get to do that on her so soon! I absolutely loved every second but after so many years hoping to ride there I actually remained strangely calm! Having Sarah, David and Matthew on hand during the day was also a real help – we received lots of advice and tips before we even sat on our horses which were fantastic not just for HOYS but for showing at other places. Sarah also offered to watch me ride JuJu earlier in the day; we were all encouraged to do this in order to let the horses take in the electric atmosphere! Riding in the outdoor exercise ring was an experience in itself, with the likes of Robert Whitaker and William Funnell working in their showjumpers alongside me. I have honestly never ridden in such a packed area before, but luckily JuJu didn’t react to the (numerous) near on crashes! JuJu isn’t a horse who needs much riding in, so I spent the majority of my time wandering around the showground with her and trying (but failing!) to squeeze into the Caldene collecting ring. After this I went back to the lorry to get a bite to eat, plait up and get myself ready for the MasterClass! Matthew then helped all of us ride in just before the class and gave me some great tips – showing riding technique is very different from eventing/dressage! The actual class was amazing: JuJu had a mild panic on the way into the arena and we had to stand for a few seconds for her to take in the atmosphere, but after a bit of leg we were in the arena and from then on there were no mishaps: she behaved impeccably. I am really looking forward to watching the class back on Horse and Country TV; I know that Matthew and David were commentating on me whilst I was doing my show, but I have a tendency to ‘zone out’ from everything other than the horse when I am doing a show/test so I didn’t actually hear what they said! It will be great to watch it back and hear their tips! Overall I had an amazing experience, a photo of JuJu in the Caldene arena and the HOYS rosette have taken pride of place at home and she is now having a well-deserved rest while I settle back into university this week. I am now more determined than ever to ride at HOYS, but to be a competitor next time – fingers crossed for HOYS 2013!

6th October 2012 was one of the best showing days of my life all thanks to The Showing Register. The whole day was so enjoyable for all of Scooby’s fan club including him and we all cannot believe how well behaved he was throughout the day! It was an early start but all worth it and so lovley to meet new people, aswell as Mathew and David who were so helpful in and out of the ring. The actual class was so much fun and all nerves flew out of the window as soon as we stepped into that arena. I am very proud to say I was chosen for the Masterclass at HOYS, it was such an amazing experience to have been involved with especially trotting out the center line to the HOYS music!! Thank you very much to all involevd with The Showing Register but especially to Sarah, Mathew and David for making it such an incredible day.

I have never ridden at the HOYS and it was one of the best experiences of my life thanks to The Showing Register. Major was so well behaved throughout the whole experience, he took everything in his stride even in the main arena! David, Sarah and Matthew were there to offer very helpful tips and advice in the morning and then also in the warm up ring before the class. It felt amazing to be trotting around the Caldene arena and getting to do a lap of honour to the HOYS music at the end was great! I would like to thank everyone involved in The Showing Register for giving me this opportunity but especially to Sarah, David and Matthew for their time and effort to make it a truely amazing day!
